In August 2020, MoRTH invited stakeholder comments on the draft notification on safety requirements for CEVs. After collating the feedback from Members, ICEMA submitted the industry’s stand to MoRTH and ARAI. On October 27, 2020, MoRTH released the final notification taking in to account the CE industry’s feedback. The safety requirements for CEVs are being implemented in two phases, viz., Phase-I from April 1, 2021 and Phase-II from April 1, 2024.
