Ms. Seema Gupta is the Secretary General of the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA). ICEMA is India’s apex industry organization working towards the growth and development of construction equipment sector in India.

As Director General of ICEMA, Seema is responsible for leading the organization and contributing to many policy level dialogues and discussions to enhance the overall economic growth and development of CEMM industry in India.

Seema has over 21 years of professional experience in different disciplines including policy advocacy, program and project management, stakeholder management, developing and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing industry competitiveness etc. Over these years, Seema has developed a strong network with industry, Government and other institutions and has been instrumental in creating and developing new areas of work while preparing comprehensive plans for achieving the financial targets for the organisation.

Before taking over as Secretary General of ICEMA, Seema served as the Head-Engineering Sectors and Manufacturing Projects at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – an apex industry association in India, where she held several key portfolios including handling Manufacturing Council, ICTE Manufacturing Committee, Office Automation & Imaging Division, Transmission Line Division and Valves Division. Apart from this, she also held responsibilities of key CII councils/committees and divisions between 2016-2018, including Smart Manufacturing Council, Capital Goods Committee, Railway Transportation and Equipment Division, EXIM Committee and Associations’ Council (ASCON).

Prior to her stint with CII’s manufacturing activities, Seema was a key member of Technology vertical of the apex body from 2000-2016 handling CII’s extensive work in the areas of Design (Industrial Design), Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Technology and R&D. She also handled many projects and programs in the area of IPR and Industry-Academia partnership and pioneered several key initiatives in the area of Design & Innovation.
