The panel actively collaborates with stakeholders to bolster the manufacturing ecosystem of the Indian construction equipment (CE) industry. This includes enhancing the global competitiveness of OEMs, mitigating supply chain risks, and promoting greater localization, among other initiatives. The panel also submits policy recommendations to the government, advocating for incentives to support the indigenization efforts of OEMs and supply chain players.
Terms of Reference
1. To engage with various stakeholders (Govt, Industry peers, Sector partners, Global peers, Academia etc.) with an aim to enhance global competitiveness of Indian CE manufacturing industry, to create level playing field globally, benchmark peer countries and evolve a roadmap for India.
2. To drive competitive differentiation for industry by encouraging enhanced use of Industry 4.0 for digitalization and automation of manufacturing processes.
3. To make a representation to Government for incentivizing indigenization efforts of CE industry and its supply chain aimed at boosting exports, through schemes such as PLI, Global Sourcing Scheme , Component Champion Scheme .
4. To represent the issues related to CoDB to the Govt and provide inputs for making Indian CE manufacturing globally competitive. (Input cost, Compliance Cost, Logistics Cost).
5.To improve the capability and competitiveness of the existing supply chain ecosystem (mainly MSMEs), and equip the supply chain players to meet the future innovation needs of the CE industry, with the view to drive the agenda of sustainability
6.To include the requirement of ‘green energy’ as part of the manufacturing process for machines produced for exports
7. To strengthen engagement with Tier 1 suppliers by inviting them to various platforms such as EXCON to apprise them of the CE industry developments
