WHO WE ARE

ICEMA is an apex association for construction equipment manufacturers in India and represents Over 120 leading companies that manufacture, trade and finance a wide range of Construction, Earthmoving, Concrete, Mining and Material handling equipment that are used in developing the robust world-class infrastructure for the nation.

Affiliated to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), ICEMA represents OEMs covering 95% of the total CE Industry in India that manufacturer wide variety of products including hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, motor graders, vibratory compactors, cranes, dumpers, tippers, forklifts trucks, dozers, pavers, batching plants, diesel engines, etc.

A non-government and not-for-profit organization, ICEMA serves as a reference point for construction equipment (CE) industry in India. From influencing policy to building consensus and engaging with policy makers, ICEMA articulates the views and concerns of CE industry in India.

THE ICEMA LEGACY

Instituted in 1949 as Tractor & Allied Equipment Manufacturers and Importers Association Ltd., ICEMA has a stellar legacy of over 70 years!

In 1949, the association was set up with 10 Indian member companies, primarily manufacturers and importers of tractors, earthmoving and allied equipment. In 1986, the Association was rechristened as Indian Earthmoving & Construction Industry Association Ltd. (IECIAL) with a view to making it a national point of reference for the Indian earthmoving & construction equipment industry. In 2012, almost quarter of a century later, given an expanding Indian Construction Equipment industry, the association was renamed Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) in line with the overall objective of further strengthening the association and making it a truly representative body of the Indian CE industry while expanding its outreach and scope of services.

Be the single point of contact for both the industry and the government for all subjects that concern the CE sector

Facilitate and shape Policy development through consensus and protect member’s rights
Promote development of skills across stakeholders e.g. Contractors, technicians, operators
Encourage and promote safe environment-friendly operating standards for the CE industry
Strengthen relationships with the global CE Associations and be the platform for sharing best practices
Encourage and promote technological competitiveness and R&D
